Cabinetry we build with

Fabuwood Cabinetry

Made in Newark. Framed and frameless inside one line, so you can compare them without changing manufacturer.

Built in New Jersey

Fabuwood builds on Blanchard Street in Newark. For a kitchen going into Bergen County that means the cabinets are made in the same state they are installed in, and a replacement part does not cross the country to reach the job.

Three series, and they are genuinely different cabinets

Most manufacturers make you pick framed or frameless by picking a brand. Fabuwood puts both under one name, which makes it the easiest line to compare inside.

Allure is framed. A solid wood face frame on the front of a plywood box, veneered natural wood inside, solid wood dovetail drawers, and a built in recessed toe kick.

Ovela is frameless with the same plywood box, the same wood interior and the same dovetail drawers. It is Allure without the face frame, so the openings are wider.

Illume is frameless and built to a different recipe: furniture board instead of plywood, a white linen interior, a metal Blum Merivo drawer box instead of a wooden one, and adjustable legs rather than a built in toe kick.

All three run Blum soft close on the drawers.

How we choose between the three

If you want inset doors, it has to be Allure, because only a framed cabinet takes them.

If you want the wider openings and still want wood inside the cabinet, Ovela does that, and it is the one we reach for most often.

If you want a metal drawer box and an interior that wipes clean, Illume.

Here is the part worth knowing before anybody quotes you: furniture board is not plywood, and under a sink that difference is the one that eventually shows. If your run has a sink base in it, ask us which of the three we would put there, and we will tell you even when it is not the one you were leaning toward.

How we specify it

We design the kitchen first, to your room, and then specify the cabinetry against that design. That order matters. Picking a cabinet line before the layout is settled is how people end up paying to work around a decision they made in a showroom.

Look at samples in person before you commit. Finishes are photographed under lighting chosen to flatter them, and a stain reads differently in your own kitchen than it does on a screen. We put the door in your hands and tell you where this range is the right answer and where another one is.

Pick the doors, we handle the rest

We design the kitchen around the cabinetry, then run the trades, the deliveries and the schedule so it goes in cleanly.
